The Power of Change

Before something happens, something always happens.

Tony Robbins just PERFECTLY demonstrates what hypnotists have always known about stuttering:  There was a time when that person did NOT stutter.

And then something happened.

Whatever happened, there was a moment when that person felt a need to speak and an equal and opposing need to be silent.

And BOOM!  A conflict is born.

I may ask about the problem, but the truth is that I’m not really interested in the problem.  The problem is not really the problem.  It is more likely the SYMPTOM of the problem.  So when we stop looking at “the problem”, the solution stares back at us.  Before that “symptom” happened, something (the REAL problem) happened.
When we understand the real problem, the symptom is useless.  It was only pointing us to the real problem all along, refusing to let us move forward until we address the problem.

The beauty of this simple principle is that it applies to so many other areas of our lives.  I have been so honored to witness people in their moment of transformation; taking back their power, their authorship, so many times that I would not want any other job than this.

So yes, I’m posting Tony Robbins’ video here instead of mine because it’s just ELEGANT in its simplicity and power.  The style and approach may vary widely from one practitioner to another, but they’re just window dressing.  The principle never changes because the TRUTH never changes.

Before something happens, something always happens.
